WOW! If you had told me 6 months ago that the garden project would have come this far, I wouldn't have believed you. I remember coming in over April Vacation and building those first five beds and being so excited to get them in the ground. And that was just the start. We now have over 300' feet of fencing that was installed over the summer. Huge thanks to Mr. S, Mr. Gray, Mr. David, Mr. Saranich, Mr. Fusti, and everyone else who showed up to try and dig through the dirt (stones!)
We have already harvested over 150 pounds of food and are on our way. Newspaper articles, state citations, and ceremonies! It has been a very exciting first month of school. The garden club had their first real day in the garden this morning planting garlic with Master Gardener - Mary King. We are looking forward to seeing those buds come up in April. We also harvested all the pumpkins and gourds that were started in the summer. They will soon be flying over the back field at the hands of student design and build trebuchets!
We have come so far in only 6 short months, I am very excited and eager to see where the garden is in another 6 months. Check back soon!
